This event costs the district around £50. All donations are welcome
The Incident hike is open to all the Scouts in the District. The Scouts normally walk along a route of 6 to 10 miles, along which incident bases are placed at regular distances. Each Patrol must stop at each base and complete the incident.
There are two trophies. One for the quickest time to walk the route (not including the time spent at the bases) and one for the highest overall score at the incident bases.
Teams of 4-8 Scouts are allowed although Troops are encouraged to enter any Scouts as combined teams can be made up if you enter numbers outside this range. Troops may also enter more than one team.

Notes
As a special 'one-off' event in 2007 the normal annual scout events of Incident Hike, Scout Rally and Survival Camp were replaced, for the Centenary Year only, by some special Challenges. Two of these were Hiking Challenges and the third was a special Scouting Challenge which could be earned by any individual Scout as well as their Troop as a whole.
The 2008 event, which was due to take place in May, has been cancelled as no Troop got back to Darren (the ADC at the time) to let him know if they would be attending or not. This had been requested at the previous two SL meetings, by email and in writing, and Troops had 6 months notice to do this.
Richard (the new ADC) is planning to hold the event later in the year.
